Happy Monday; welcome to another fabulous week! I pray your weekend was productive and refreshing. Today’s power scripture comes from 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)
“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Usually when we hear that someone is ‘clueless’ we think that they are simply out of touch. They are a brick short of a load; a few cards short of a complete deck or dumb as a box of hair. But from today’s scripture let us focus on clueless from another standpoint. Recently my eldest son was assigned the duty of keeping his girlfriend busy until it was time to escort her to her surprise birthday party. He filled the day with one wonderful activity after the next until it was time to bring her to the place where family and friends were hiding in anticipation to jump out and scream “SURPRISE”. She thoroughly enjoyed all of the day’s activities and kept saying what a great birthday she was having but she was clueless about the ‘real’ happening that was planned for the late evening.
Those of us who love the Lord are just like his girlfriend in many ways. We are going along in life enjoying the things that God presents to us. We anticipate some of the things that are coming up and we have certain levels of expectation. We are thankful for the blessings that we receive and we acknowledge that we are blessed and highly favored. But we really are clueless about what God has in store for us. And he has lots of surprises. Many things are so wonderful he cannot reveal even hints about them to us because it would be too overwhelming for us without his preparation and perfect timing. It would be as if you would give the keys of a high-powered racing car to a teenager who only has a learner’s permit.
So when things seem to be just going along as usual or even if things might seem a little off from the norm; enjoy each moment because you never know when God is going to jump out from behind what seems like a closed door; a missed opportunity; a failed venture; or even a great victory and shout “Surprise!!”
Every day is a good day, it is up to us to make it a GREAT power-filled day. Be blessed! Dr. JoAnn
